Nuestro entrevistado: Luis Iván Cuende
¡Hola europeos!
Como bien sabeis tuvimos que cambiar nuestros planes iniciales del chat directo por una entrevista en vídeo que realizamos ayer y la cual colgaremos en una nueva entrada cuando nos sea posible.Ya estamos trabajando para solucionar los problemas informáticos que se nos están planteando por problemas de formato, confiamos en subirlo en las próximas 24h.
Os vamos a presentar a nuestro entrevistado:
Luis Iván Cuénde,es un chico de un año más que nosotros, que precisamente hoy se gradúa (le felicitamos desde aquí). Sinceramente, le agredecemos mucho la ayuda que nos ha aportado para nuestro proyecto pues sin él no hubiésemos podido llevarlo al cabo; os explicaremos un poco de su historia:

Edad:17 años
Nacionalidad: Española
A la edad 12 años, este asturiano creó su propio sistema informático llamado Asturix, puro software libre que le llevó, tras años de trabajo y esfuerzo, a darse a conocer a nivel mundial hasta llegar a convertirse en el mejor hacker de Europa. Logró ese reconocimiento en 2011, cuando solo tenía 15 años y ganó el concurso para desarrolladores de código HackNow. En la edición de 2012, ha recibido el honor de formar parte del jurado que a finales de este mes premiará a un nuevo hacker que recogerá su testigo. Joven, emprendedor, autodidacta y no demasiado estudioso, ahora Iván está inmerso en Holalabs, una empresa emergente (start-up) que lleva junto a su compañero Alberto Elías, también de 16 años, con quien está pasando unos días en Madrid para entrevistarse con empresas y expertos. Gracias a los éxitos obtenidos (y a su experiencia en los fracasos, que con creces ha sabido superar) y como bien nos explica en la entrevista, conoció hace tiempo a la Vicepresidenta de la Comisión Europea, Neelie Kroes (https://twitter.com/NeelieKroesEU). Para no desvelaros mucho y antes de tiempo, hoy en día forma parte de un equipo de jóvenes encargados de aconsejar a la misma sobre diferentes temas que interesan a la Unión Europea, ergo nos interesan a todos nosotros. Juntos proponen propuestas para afrontar las dificultades y problemas a los que nos podamos enfrentar los jóvenes europeos para que, siempre en unidad (espíritu de la Unión) consigamos más coordinada, más concienciada, más Europa.

Did you know that tomorrow is Europe Day? How do you celebrate this day?
1 - Yes, I know, but did not have very much present. Although it seems lie, a day like this does not seem to enjoy the media coverage it deserves. I wish there was cultural social celebrations. The EU is a miracle and one of the best examples of what has managed to humans. 's Celebrate instead of celebrating the victory / defeat of a football team, which has given us much.
Do you know the origin and the reason for the founding of the European Union?
2 - The origin of the foundation of the EU was prompted by interest economical. The first institution that would later rise to others that would eventually consolidating the EU, was the European Coal and Steel. It's curious that all this has an origin from business inter-European coal and steel.
Could you name some of the founding members?
3 - Schuman is recognized as one of the fathers of the EU, and was the prompted the European Coal and Steel. He founded the Popular Republican Movement and led the French Republic. His called "Schuman Declaration" was born what is now known as Union European.
When did Spain's entry into the European Union?
4 - Spain officially entered in 1999 to join the Union European. I was a member of the Schengen area since 1991, but the fact entering the EU was an unforgettable milestone for the country. I remember the people's illusion the first days when the euro began circulating in Spain. It was like reaffirming the progress.
Do you consider yourself a citizen of the European Union?
5 - Completely. I feel a great identification with the cultures of European countries, not only Spanish, because I believe in a vision of diverse and open culture. On the other hand, what attracts me most is the philosophical and idealistic vision of the EU's long term overcome borders and progress as humanity, and not as separate sets, sometimes conflicting interests. In the end all humans look for the same: the happiness.
Do you know the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union?
6 - Yes, I do. The Charter of Fundamental Rights European. It is a document containing human rights provisions and approved in 2000. It is important to leave the bases well granted, and this takes care of that document.
Do you know your rights as a European citizen?
7 - I know, the rights everybody have as citizens of the EU has made it abundantly advertising. In fact I think I still have at home a book pocket about EU rights which I enjoyed reading when I was a child.
Would you like that in the future existed EU?
8 - Do not just wish, but I think it is one of the steps to reach a real internationalization of human beings in the world. And I have fear that the EU will break in the interests Economic few. We can not go to that extreme, especially knowing that this is just beginning. Anyway I am optimistic. Dream with linguistic union reach someday. This would lead a cultural union, and that the social union. Can you imagine? The EU would be like the EEUU, but with a cultural diversity never seen before by man.
What benefits are in being a membership of the European Union? And the drawbacks?
9 - Since I travel often, the issue of borders in countries Europe is a practical benefit that I must mention. For

The truth is that I find an inconvenient, and that I have given turns. Many people talk about how good we were with the ''peseta''. I can't remember how we went to the peseta, and when I was 5 years Euro was introduced. Anyway I have a boatload of pesetas, serves as maracas or weights: P Honestly, with the Euro we have the opportunity to play in the first division worldwide, with the peseta that possibility does not exist.
Do you considere the Euro as the currency of the future?
10 - Good question, it's complicated ... on the one hand, from the point of traditional view of the coins, I see no future. The Eurozone has impressive economic power, just look at countries like Germany or Spain, but we are going through bad times.
But all that power you risk if not carried out policies common at European level, so that the division can not occur that we are experiencing today in the Euro area, listed by many to be a separation between good rhythm countries and countries in crisis or slower. The EU countries should be united in truth, which is what instills confidence that the currency is each stronger.
From the point of view of all currencies, not just the traditional, I see no future. Is centrally, banks and the control states, and this is what has led to crisesas we are going, or even other crises always with the bad management of the banks.
An alternative to this model is obsolete Bitcoin, a virtual currency, decentralized and international that is gaining much traction.

En 1971 fue diputada en el parlamento neerlandés.
Entre 1982 y 1989 fue ministra de Transportes, Obra Pública y Telecomunicaciones en el gobierno neerlandés.
Es una empresaria y política por el Partido Popular por la Libertad y la Democracia.
En la actualidad ocupa el cargo de vicepresidenta de la Comisión Europea (como comisaria de Agenda Digital)
A few words about the comic
As you can see, we've published a post with our work of the last weeks. We've decided to create a simple comic, which can be understood by everybody. Here, we wanted to write down our opinion about the European Union and its work and importance.
If you have already read it, you'll know that its work is to keep the peace and harmony between different countries. They also estipulate and be an active part of a series of deals for promoting worlwide peace.
So as a good European you must help everyday to keep the peace and to make better the international relationships, starting by your surroundings.

Tomorrow is Europe's day and to celebrate it, we will have an exclusive interview from the hand of our colleague and friend Luis Ivan Cuende. First we will make some simple questions about the European Union that you can also answer and, later, he's going to tell us more about the European union.

Comentario sobre el cómic
Como podéis ver, hemos publicado una entrada con nuestro trabajo de las últimas semanas. Hemos decidido crear un cómic sencillo y comprensible para todo el mundo de todas las edades. En el cómic queríamos plasmar la función principal de la Unión Europea y su importancia.
Como ya habréis leído su funcionamiento es mantener la paz y concordia entre los países que la forman y establecer e intervenir en una serie de pactos que promueven, como antes dijimos, la paz, objetivo global e imprescindible.
Así que, como buen Europeo, debes ayudar cada día al fomento de la paz y a la mejora de las relaciones internacionales, empezando por tu entorno.

Respuestas Día de Europa
¡Aquí están las respuestas de Luís Iván! Le estamos verdaderamente agradecidos por colaborar con nosotros, deseamos que disfrutéis de esta información tan interesante. No os olvidéis que mañana tendremos el placer de contar también con su presencia en una entrevista más extensa en la que nos contará su experiencia curiosa y cautivadora.
¿Sabías que mañana se celebra el Día de Europa? ¿Cómo celebrarías este día?
1- Sí lo conocía, aunque no lo tenía muy presente. Aunque parezca
mentira, un día como este no parece gozar de la cobertura mediática
que merece. Me gustaría que hubiese celebraciones de tipo cultural y
social. La UE es un milagro y uno de los máximos exponentes de lo que
ha conseguido el ser humano. Celebrémoslo en vez de celebrar la
victoria/derrota de un equipo de fútbol, que no nos ha aportado mucho.
¿Sabes cuál es el origen y el porqué de la fundación de la Unión Europea?
2- El origen de la fundación de la UE estuvo incitado por intereses
económicos. La primera institución que después daría origen a otras
que acabarían consolidando la UE fue la Comunidad Europea del Carbón y
el Acero. Es curioso que todo esto tenga origen en los negocios
intereuropeos con carbón y acero.
¿Podrías citar algunos de los países fundadores?
3- Schuman es reconocido como uno de los padres de la UE, y fue el que
impulsó la Comunidad Europea del Carbón y el Acero. Fundó el
Movimiento Republicano Popular y dirigió la República Francesa. De su
llamada "Declaración Schuman" nació lo que hoy conocemos como Unión
Europea.
¿Cuándo se produjo el ingreso de España en la Unión Europea?
4- España entró oficialmente en 1999 a formar parte de la Unión
Europea. Ya era miembro del espacio Schengen desde 1991, pero el hecho
de entrar en la UE fue un hito inolvidable para el país. Recuerdo la
ilusión de la gente los primeros días que el euro empezó a circular en
España. Fue reafirmarnos en el progreso.
¿Te consideras ciudadano de la Unión Europea?
5- Completamente. Siento una gran identificación con las culturas de
los países europeos, no sólo la española, ya que creo en una visión de
la cultura diversa y abierta. Por otro lado, lo que más me atrae es la
visión filosófica e idealista de la UE a largo plazo: vencer las
fronteras y progresar como humanidad, y no como conjuntos separados y,
a veces, enfrentados. Al final todos los humanos buscamos lo mismo: la
felicidad.
¿Conoces la Carta de Derechos Fundamentales de la Unión Europea?
6- Sí, la conozco. La Carta de los Derechos Fundamentales de la Unión
Europea. Es un documento que contiene provisiones de derechos humanos
y que fue aprobado en el año 2000. Es importante dejar las bases bien
sentadas, y de eso se encarga este documento.
¿Conoces tus derechos como ciudadanos europeo?
7- Los conozco, y la verdad es que precisamente sobre los derechos que
todos tenemos como ciudadanos de la UE se ha hecho abundante
publicidad. De hecho creo que aún debo tener por casa un libro de
bolsillo de los derechos de la UE que me gustaba leer cuando era
pequeño.
¿Te gustaría que en un futuro siguieses existiendo la Unión Europea?
8- No sólo me gustaría, sino que creo que es uno de los pasos a seguir
para llegar a una internacionalización real del ser humano en el
mundo. Y tengo miedo de que la UE se rompa por los intereses
económicos de unos pocos. No podemos llegar a ese extremo, más aún
sabiendo que esto acaba de empezar. De todas formas soy optimista.
Sueño con llegar hasta una unión lingüística algún día. Ello llevaría
a una unión cultural, y ello a la unión social. ¿Os lo podéis
imaginar? La UE sería como los EEUU, pero con una diversidad cultural
nunca antes vista por el ser humano.
¿Qué beneficios encuentras en pertenecer a la Unión Europea? ¿E inconvenientes?
9- Ya que viajo habitualmente, el tema de las fronteras en países
europeos es un beneficio práctico que debo mencionar. Para las
empresas el hecho de tener unión monetaria facilita considerablemente
el poder hacer negocios con otros países de la UE.
La verdad es que no encuentro inconvenientes, y eso que le he dado
vueltas. Mucha gente habla de lo bien que estábamos con la peseta. No
recuerdo cómo nos iba con la peseta, cuando tenía 5 años ya se
implantó el Euro. De todas formas tengo un bote lleno de pesetas,
sirve de maracas o pesas :P
Sinceramente, con el Euro tenemos la oportunidad de jugar en la
primera división a nivel mundial, con la peseta esa posibilidad no
existiría.
¿Consideras el Euro como la moneda del futuro?
10- Buena pregunta, es complicado... por un lado, desde el punto de
vista de las monedas tradicionales, le veo futuro. La Eurozona tiene
una potencia económica impresionante, sólo hay que mirar a países como
Alemania o incluso España, aunque estemos atravesando malos momentos.
Pero toda esa potencia se arriesga si no se llevan a cabo políticas
comunes a nivel europeo, de forma que no pueda ocurrir la división que
estamos experimentando hoy en día en la zona Euro, catalogada por
muchos como una separación entre países de buen ritmo y países en
crisis o de menor ritmo. Los países de la UE deben estar unidos de
verdad, que es lo que infunde la confianza para que la moneda sea cada
vez más fuerte.
Desde el punto de vista de todas las monedas y no sólo las
tradicionales, no le veo futuro. Es centralizada, es decir, los bancos
y los estados la controlan, y ello es lo que nos ha llevado a crisis
como la que estamos pasando, o incluso a otras crisis relacionadas
siempre con la pésima gestión de los bancos.
Una alternativa a este modelo obsoleto es Bitcoin, una moneda virtual,
descentralizada e internacional que está ganando mucha tracción.

Sueño con llegar hasta una unión lingüística algún día. Ello llevaría
a una unión cultural, y ello a la unión social. ¿Os lo podéis
imaginar? La UE sería como los EEUU, pero con una diversidad cultural
nunca antes vista por el ser humano.
¿Qué beneficios encuentras en pertenecer a la Unión Europea? ¿E inconvenientes?
9- Ya que viajo habitualmente, el tema de las fronteras en países
europeos es un beneficio práctico que debo mencionar. Para las
empresas el hecho de tener unión monetaria facilita considerablemente
el poder hacer negocios con otros países de la UE.
La verdad es que no encuentro inconvenientes, y eso que le he dado
vueltas. Mucha gente habla de lo bien que estábamos con la peseta. No
recuerdo cómo nos iba con la peseta, cuando tenía 5 años ya se
implantó el Euro. De todas formas tengo un bote lleno de pesetas,
sirve de maracas o pesas :P
Sinceramente, con el Euro tenemos la oportunidad de jugar en la
primera división a nivel mundial, con la peseta esa posibilidad no
existiría.
¿Consideras el Euro como la moneda del futuro?
10- Buena pregunta, es complicado... por un lado, desde el punto de
vista de las monedas tradicionales, le veo futuro. La Eurozona tiene
una potencia económica impresionante, sólo hay que mirar a países como
Alemania o incluso España, aunque estemos atravesando malos momentos.
Pero toda esa potencia se arriesga si no se llevan a cabo políticas
comunes a nivel europeo, de forma que no pueda ocurrir la división que
estamos experimentando hoy en día en la zona Euro, catalogada por
muchos como una separación entre países de buen ritmo y países en
crisis o de menor ritmo. Los países de la UE deben estar unidos de
verdad, que es lo que infunde la confianza para que la moneda sea cada
vez más fuerte.
Desde el punto de vista de todas las monedas y no sólo las
tradicionales, no le veo futuro. Es centralizada, es decir, los bancos
y los estados la controlan, y ello es lo que nos ha llevado a crisis
como la que estamos pasando, o incluso a otras crisis relacionadas
siempre con la pésima gestión de los bancos.
Una alternativa a este modelo obsoleto es Bitcoin, una moneda virtual,
descentralizada e internacional que está ganando mucha tracción.

9 May (Europe's Day)
On May 9 is important for many people for certain reasons and aspects, but it is for us because it is Europe's Day.
Europe's Day is a celebration that takes place as we have mentioned the May 9 in the European Union and is in memory of the Schuman's Declaration in which the French foreign minister, Robert Schuman, made the first step for the integration of European states and proposed that coal and steel from Germany and France to submit to a joint administration, promoting the creation of the European Community, the origin of the current European Union.
The commemoration of that date takes place since 1985, after approval by the Heads of State and Governments at the European Council.
Despite being the only official celebration day of the European Union, is considered a weekday and the celebrations organized by the member states are not equated to those performed on the occasion of national holidays of each state.
Europe Day is a exclusive symbol of the European Union.
Each year the European Commission published a promotional poster, which comprises a different reason each time. Many schools celebrate May 9 to make students see the importance of this day, as children and young people are the future citizens of the European Union, for this reason teachers increasingly involved in initiatives that promote Europeanism .
They emphasize the celebrations promoted by the Project Europe Cell spreading seeking that day in the education sector.

Our vision of the European Union
This group of cartoons (we don't know if we can call it a comic since it hasn't got a story), made by one of the members of DiBer, shows what we think that represent the best the UE; their members, fonctions, basis and values of moral and etic integrity. As we really liked her job, we decided to put it in the blog and even if there're more posts here, we have also put it in the sidebar of the page so it can welcome all the visitors.

Presentation
Hello everyone! We DIBER group, formed by a group of nine students from 1st school baccalaureate Auseva Marist (Leyre, Cris, Olaya, Aida, Ana, Celia, Aris, Edu and Sara). The name comes from a small private joke that somebody unites us, as we are the only social sciences group in a technical high school class. We signed up for the competition because we were very interested in learning more about the European Union, and when the teacher told us what it was all about not hesitation in saying yes.
We hope for moving to the next stage because, really, we are finding it very interesting and entertaining.
